The introduction is to an informative and factual blog post about the Sega CD system. Feel free to use any of the information from this website: https://www.powerpak.com/blog/2018/scph-90000-bios-jpn/ If you’ve never heard of the Sega CD, then it’s likely because it never happened – at least not in America. Originally released as a part of Sega’s Mega Drive line in Japan, North America and Europe eventually saw competition from Sony with their PlayStation console - and that put a stop to any possibility for our region seeing a release. For the longest time, all that was left was speculation that Sega would try to release an upgraded version of the system in hopes of gaining sales, but now it seems as though the Sega CD may have gotten its own revival. The name “The Sega CD” holds a special place in gaming history ever since it was released in Japan, so any time there’s talk about this precious piece of hardware, people tend to become rather giddy with excitement. It looks like this is one of those times – so much so that a vintage cartridge for said device has made its way onto eBay. The title up for auction is the elusive Sega CD BIOS, which has been confirmed as authentic by its seller. With original packaging, this little gem is supposedly one of three known copies in existence. According to the seller, this item was “bought direct from Sega back in ˜92″ via an official distributor they had at the time. It’s unknown what Sega intended on doing with these BIOS carts, but it seems they were never used. Instead, the company ended up handing them out to various people including employees and notables within the gaming industry. The rare and highly sought-after Sega CD BIOS was only released in Japan and Europe – where it’s based on the Mega Drive – so this is a wonderful opportunity to be able to own it. The system was created by Sega, who’s mascot character was Space Harrier. Through its library, developers were able to create such games as Ecco the Dolphin, Virtua Racing, Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millenium Boy?, Sonic Spinball, Cyber Stadium 2 and more. https://www.powerpak.com/blog/2018/scph-90000-bios-jpn/ https://www.powerpak. com/blog/2018/scph-90000-bios-jpn/ https://www.powerpak.com/blog/2018/scph-90000-bios-jpn/https://www.powerpak.com/blog/2018/scph-90000-bios-jpnThe video below is a gameplay demonstration of the three levels of Ecco the Dolphin for Sega CD, as well as a review on the state of the product and how it might mutate into a Sonic Spinball or a new multiplayer Phantasy Star IV for Sega CD, if there were to be another Sega CD released in 2020's from Sega's Retro Studio division. cfa1e77820
